Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a form of energy healing that works on the subtle energy layers that exist within and surrounding the physical body. When the energetic bodies are unbalanced, blocked, or disturbed, the physical body is affected negatively and experiences dis-ease. During a Reiki session, the body’s energetic layers are soothed and balanced, energy flow pathways are cleared, and the physical body feels peace and a respite from pain.

Amputees and their caregivers as well as the general community are welcome to schedule Reiki appointments through the Amputee Center. Sessions are approximately one hour in length, conducted in a spa-like setting on a comfortable table, fully clothed. My sessions are no-touch, so there is no fear that pain will be exacerbated.

Clients always receive exactly what they need from Reiki. No two clients have the same experience; no two sessions are the same for any one client. Mostly, clients feel a general sense of peace, lightness, happiness, a renewal of a sense of well-being that can last for days. Pain is usually reduced during that hour and longer, and clients often have very restful sleep following their Reiki sessions.

This simple, gentle, and non-invasive and non-religious practice is a perfect complement to any medical or psychological treatment, naturally strengthening the body’s own innate healing ability. Please read the blog I’ve written or visit my website for more information.
